Try Freestyle - Grouse Mountain - Sunday, December 16th
Freestyle Vancouver has designed a program for youth ages 8-17 to Try Freestyle skiing. If you are an experienced skier and want to learn about Freestyle in a fun and safe way, this is the perfect opportunity to “Try Freestyle”.
Sunday, December 16th – Grouse Mountain
Ages 8-11 (8:30am-12:00pm)
Ages 12-17 (12:30-4:00pm)
Participants can register online or on event day
There is NO cost for this event - the insurance fee is covered by Canadian Freestyle Ski Association to encourage participation
Lift tickets not included - A special event ticket price will be available on event day
TRY FREESTYLE includes:
An introduction to all of the elements of Freestyle Skiing
Access to special event lift ticket (if required)
Meeting Area and Times
Sign in at the Vancouver Freestyle tent in front of Guest Services at Grouse Mountain. Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time, ready to ski (with gear on).
Please meet us outside of the main lodge after the event to check in with the coaches.
All participants must sign in with us first, arrange a lift ticket and complete the appropriate paperwork on the day of the event. Please be on time!
Lift tickets are not included. All participants taking part in TRY FREESTYLE will receive a discounted day ticket on the program day. If a ticket is required, please check in with us at the tent before purchasing lift tickets.
Athletes must come with a good pair of gloves, goggles, ski boots, skis and poles of suitable length. Helmets are mandatory at all times. Coaches are not responsible for taking care of athlete’s equipment.
Please plan ahead and dress for the weather. Our program will go rain or shine so layer up. Snacks are recommended as we will have breaks throughout.
Fun & Safe Environment
The goal of TRY FREESTYLE is to introduce youth to the elements of Freestyle in a fun & safe environment. All of the coaches involved are experienced members of the Vancouver Freestyle Ski Club (VFSC) and certified by the Coaching Association of Canada. At no time will participants be pressured to try or complete a skill that is not within their comfort zone and/or ability level.
Insurance & Liability
A waiver and registration form will be required to be filled out by each parent before participants take part in TRY FREESTYLE.
