Volunteering with the Vancouver Freestyle Ski Club

VFSC only works with the help of volunteers. The goal of the club is to make volunteering easy.Below is a list of positions that need to be filled throughout the season. This is a list that is always changing as the season moves along. There are many places you can help out from events to board member; some on the mountain and some off the mountain.

Positions Available

Mountain Liaison – Cypress and Grouse

Approximately 2 to 10 hours of volunteer time required. Less involvement is needed as the season goes on. Parents who sign up for this position will have athletes on that mountain that particular day. For example, if your athlete skies only Sunday at Grouse, you will only be required to be the liaison for Sunday at Grouse. This is also a great position to share with another parent. This is a position where communication between parents, athletes, coaches, mountain staff and the board takes place. The goal here is to assist the coaching staff to get the athletes onto the snow as quick as possible. Relay any changes that have been made to scheduling and provide general follow up on email communications.  You will also need to communicate back to the board or coaching staff. You will be required to attend one to two board meeting during the season. General requirement for the position is someone who can be on time (no one is taking attendance) and a smile.
